What Is a Linear Motion Vibrating Screen?
The Linear Motion Vibrating Screen, commonly referred to as the Linear Vibrating Screen, is specifically designed for high-throughput applications and is suitable for the safe screening, grading, and dust removal of powdered and granular materials. With mesh sizes ranging from 3/8 inch (10 mm) to 400 mesh (38 microns), it can separate materials into seven different particle size fractions. It is widely used in the abrasives, chemical, food, pharmaceutical, fertilizer, and plastic pellet industries, among others.
How Does a Linear Motion Vibrating Screen Work?
Linear Vibration Principle
The linear motion vibrating screen is driven by dual vibrating motors. When the two motors rotate synchronously in opposite directions, the exciting forces generated by their eccentric blocks cancel each other out in the direction parallel to the motor axes but combine into a resultant force in the direction perpendicular to the axes; consequently, the screen follows a linear motion path.
The axes of the two motors are inclined relative to the screen surface. Under the combined effect of the exciting force and the material’s own weight, the material is tossed up and moves forward along the screen surface in a linear, hopping motion, thereby achieving the screening and grading of the material.
Main Components of Linear Motion Screen
The Linear Motion Vibrating Screen primarily consists of a screen box, screen frame, screen mesh, vibrating motor, motor mount, vibration-damping springs, and a support structure.
Screen Box
Welded from steel plates of varying thicknesses, it possesses the necessary strength and rigidity and serves as the main component of the screening machine.
Screen Frame
Made of pine or other timber with low deformation characteristics; it is primarily used to keep the screen mesh flat to ensure effective screening.
Screen Mesh
Available in various materials, including low-carbon steel, brass, bronze, and stainless steel wire.
