What Is a Direct Discharge Sifter?

The Direct Discharge Sifter can be configured with either a single-motor or dual-motor drive system, where the exciting force is generated by unbalanced eccentric weights mounted at the top and bottom ends of the horizontal motor shaft. Upon entering the unit, the material follows an elliptical trajectory across the screen surface driven by the vibration source. As the material rapidly and repeatedly passes through the mesh, the vibration force continuously acts to separate, break up, and reorient the particles, facilitating rapid screening; material that cannot pass through the mesh is discharged via the upper outlet following the machine’s motion path, thereby completing the screening process.
How Does a Direct Discharge Sifter Work?

A vibration motor utilizes two sets of eccentric weights (unbalanced weights) located at the upper and lower ends of its shaft to convert the motor’s rotational motion into a combined force—comprising horizontal, vertical, inclined, and centrifugal components—which is then transmitted to the screen surface to achieve the screening effect. Adjusting the phase angle and weight of the upper and lower eccentric weights allows for the modification of the exciting force magnitude and the material’s movement trajectory.

How to Select the Right Direct Discharge Sifter?
When selecting a straight-discharge vibrating screen, factors such as material characteristics, throughput requirements, and specific customization needs should be considered. Regarding material characteristics, assessments should focus on flowability and material compatibility.
Regarding material flow characteristics:
if the material consists of dry, free-flowing powder or granules without agglomeration, the required excitation force is relatively low, making a single-motor direct-discharge vibrating screen a suitable choice.
If the material tends to clump (e.g., due to moisture) and has poor flowability, requiring strong vibration to break up clumps and improve flow, a dual-motor direct-discharge vibrating screen is recommended.
Regarding material suitability:
If the material is dry, non-corrosive, and conventional—such as sand, gravel, coal, or ore—a straight-discharge sieve made of carbon steel is a suitable choice; carbon steel offers high hardness, excellent impact and wear resistance, and a lower price point compared to stainless steel.
If the material is moist, corrosive, chemically active, or subject to strict hygiene requirements, stainless steel is recommended; it is easy to clean, highly corrosion-resistant, and resistant to rusting.
Regarding throughput requirements:
In addition to standard diameters ranging from 600mm to 1500mm, straight-discharge vibrating sieves can be custom-manufactured with diameters of 400mm, 1800mm, and 2000mm; this comprehensive range of models accommodates most production needs. A 400mm-diameter unit can process approximately 5–15 tons of material per hour, while a 2000mm-diameter unit can handle around 300 tons per hour. Given comparable configurations, a larger diameter generally results in higher processing capacity but also requires a larger footprint.
Regarding custom-made orders:
Standard screening models often struggle to meet the demands of every operating environment; Yuanjing’s straight-discharge screen supports custom, non-standard designs. To address issues such as mesh blinding and excessive dust generation during fine powder screening, the unit can be equipped with an ultrasonic mesh cleaning system and an explosion-proof motor, ensuring continuous, stable operation. For multi-station workflows, optional locking swivel casters allow for flexible equipment relocation. When processing highly abrasive materials like quartz sand or ore over extended periods, wear-resistant liners can be added to prolong the machine’s service life. The entire unit can be customized to suit specific production conditions, effectively enhancing screening efficiency.
