What is a Linear Vibrating Screen?
The linear vibrating screen is a screening device widely used across various industries. Designed for high-volume processing, its primary functions include grading, filtering, and removing impurities. Powered by two vibration motors, the linea vibrating sieve causes the material to move in a straight line across the screen surface. The material enters the screen evenly, and particles of various sizes are separated through multiple layers of rectangular mesh screens and discharged through separate outlets. It features low energy consumption, high throughput, a simple structure, easy maintenance, a fully enclosed design that prevents dust leakage, and automatic discharge. Due to its performance and features, it is highly suitable for assembly line operations.
Structure
This screening machine mainly consists of a screen box, screen frame, screen mesh, vibrating motor, motor base, vibration-damping springs, and support frame.
Screen box
Welded from several steel plates of different thicknesses, it possesses a certain strength and rigidity and is the main component of the screening machine.
Screen frame
Made of pine or wood with minimal deformation, it is mainly used to keep the screen mesh flat for proper screening.
Vibrating motor /Motor base
Used to mount the vibrating motor. Before use, the connecting screws must be tightened, especially during the first three days of trial use of a new screening machine; they must be repeatedly tightened to prevent loosening and accidents.
Screen mesh
Available in several types, including low-carbon steel, brass, bronze, and stainless steel wire.
Vibration-damping springs
Prevent vibration from being transmitted to the ground and support the entire weight of the screen box. During installation, the springs must be perpendicular to the ground.
Support frame
Consists of four pillars and two channel steel sections, supporting the screen box. During installation, the pillars must be perpendicular to the ground, and the channel steel sections under the two pillars should be parallel to each other.

Working principle
The working principle of a linear vibrating screen is based on the excitation force generated by the synchronous and reverse rotation of a vibrating motor. The forces cancel each other out in the direction parallel to the motor axis, and combine into a resultant force in the direction perpendicular to the motor axis, causing the screen’s trajectory to be a straight line. Under the combined action of the excitation force and the material’s own weight, the material is thrown up and jumps forward in a straight line on the screen surface, thus achieving the purpose of screening and grading the material.


Purpose of the linear vibrating screen
1. Impurity Removal
For processing highly fluid powders and granules, it quickly removes large particles or fine powders present in small amounts.
2. Grading
Continuously grading and screening mixtures of different particle sizes to produce products of varying sizes. A 1-6-layer sieve can be selected, separating the mixture into products of different fineness based on the sieve mesh size. Up to seven different specifications of finished products can be separated in a single pass.
