What is a Vibro Sifter?
The vibro sifter also called a vibrating sieving machine is the most common screening device. It operates with a three-dimensional circular motion, offering high screening precision and preventing screen clogging, making it suitable for fine and ultra-fine powders. Machine components in contact with materials are made of materials such as Q235 carbon steel, SS316L stainless steel, and SS304 stainless steel. Rotary vibrating screens can be designed with 1 to 5 layers of screens, enabling multi-stage particle size classification in a single pass. A single unit can replace multiple standalone machines, offering higher efficiency and a smaller footprint, making it suitable for various factory settings.
Working Principle
When loose bulk materials—comprising a mixture of particles of varying sizes and coarseness—enter the screen surface, the vibration of the screen box causes the material layer to disperse.
Smaller particles seize this opportunity to pass through the gaps and migrate to the lower screen deck; conversely, larger particles, unable to pass due to the narrowness of the gaps, remain on the screen surface. Consequently, the originally disordered mass of particles undergoes separation—specifically, a stratification based on particle size—establishing a distinct arrangement pattern in which finer particles settle at the bottom while coarser particles remain at the top.
As the fine particles reach the screen surface, those smaller than the mesh apertures pass through, thereby achieving the final separation of coarse and fine grains and completing the screening process.

Structure of the Vibro Sifter

Feed Inlet
The baffle plate is designed to ensure that material flows evenly onto the screen surface, and the material can be inspected through the viewing port.
Dust Cover
It contains the material, protecting the machine and the surrounding environment from dust.
Vibration Motor
This motor generates multi-plane vibrations in the vibrating screen, a motion that accelerates the passage of material through the various screens.
Vibration Damping Springs
These allow the entire upper section of the machine to vibrate freely, helping to minimize power consumption, prevent vibration transfer to the floor, and reduce noise.
Screen Mesh
Maintains tension to facilitate the movement of material along the direction of vibration. This can be either horizontal or vertical. A single machine can achieve both active and gentle material separation simultaneously.
Discharge Opening
The size of the discharge opening can be customized as needed, and the discharge rate can be adjusted via a valve.

Common Types of Vibro Sifters
The term “vibro sifter” generally refers to all equipment that uses vibration to screen materials, including rotary vibrating screens, inline vibrating screens, ultrasonic vibrating screens, and other types.

The equipment is customized to meet various customer requirements, with screen diameters ranging from 400 to 2000 mm, 1 to 5 layers, and materials including 304 stainless steel and carbon steel, to accommodate the screening needs of various powders and granules as well as liquid filtration requirements.
The machine’s feed inlet and discharge outlet are vertically aligned, allowing material to pass rapidly through the screen from top to bottom. This design is suitable for continuous impurity removal and filtration of high-volume powders and granules.


By incorporating high-frequency ultrasonic waves into the vibrating screen’s screening principle, ultra-fine powders achieve ultra-high-speed movement, keeping the material on the screen surface in a constant state of suspension. This effectively suppresses factors that cause screen clogging, such as adhesion, friction, settling, and jamming.

How to Choose a Vibro Sifter
By Material
For fine powders and micro-powders, prioritize rotary vibrating screens; for multi-stage classification, choose multi-layer rotary vibrating screens; for chemical corrosion or cleanroom environments, select chemical-grade vibrating sieving machines.
By Output
The higher the output, the larger the equipment diameter should be, paired with the appropriate number of screening layers.
By Operating Conditions
For food, pharmaceutical, and chemical applications, 304/316L stainless steel is mandatory; for general mining and construction material applications, carbon steel is an option.

Case Studies

Case 1
The material is stevioside powder. The material has a particle size of approximately 100 mesh, a specific gravity of 0.29, and requires screening to 40 mesh. The processing capacity is 1,000 kg/h. A vibrating screen is required.
Case 2
Starch Screening and Impurity Removal — Passing through a 20–30 mesh screen; throughput of 420 kg/h; continuous 24-hour daily operation.


Case 3
Screening pepper grains. A 1-meter vibrating screen was selected, equipped with 20-mesh, 30-mesh, and 60-mesh screens. The material has good flowability, with a throughput of 100 kg per hour. Particles larger than 20 mesh account for 50%, while those smaller than 60 mesh account for 30%.
